From the desk of Caspar:
Is Mental Health the key? (to achieving business results)
Looking after those in our teams has never been more important. As mental health awareness week kicks off, it's one of the simplest things to remember that listening and genuinely caring for our team sits right at the core of what it means to be more human.
It's not just the right thing to do for the mental health for each and every one of us. It's also fundamental for success in your team.
Just released research from Vistage Worldwide, Inc. shows that 41% of employees are considering changing employers in the year ahead. This is double the number from 2019.
Just let that sink in. Over 2 out of 5 people are considering a change. Up from 1 out of 5. That's huge.
Tip: Companies that don't look after their people are likely to be the first to lose them.
The Idea Espresso Hit
Making progress with a disengaged team can feel like herding cats.
Don’t be a herder. Be a leader.
Mental Health and Animals
Speaking of mental health and animals, there’s been a little bit of excitement at home this week with a new arrival. The latest Big Bold Goals team member has been a little demanding - it definitely feels like the tail is wagging the dog right now. I’m sure his paws will be on the keyboard before long.
Another excuse if one were needed to get out on walks and into nature more which is the theme of this years Mental Health week.
Tip: Fresh air and walks are good for all, not just 4 legged team mates.
Big Bold Bites
I’m not one for fairy tales, but I did get asked this week about Goaldilocks. Is there an optimal number of goals we should be aiming for? Interview thanks to Maria Franzoni, James Taylor and London Speaker Bureau.
