From the desk of Caspar:
Ideas for the Younger You
I started my first business at 14. I found an abandoned fishing boat, repaired it and starting catching and selling crabs and lobsters from a beach in South Devon.
My son’s now 14 and I’ve been back on that beach with him this week with him repairing my old boat with him. As I spend time talking with him, I’ve shared the things that I know now that I wish I’d known then:
Be relentlessly curious and never stop learning;
Have more humility
Be easy to be around
Bring energy and positivity to whatever work you do
Enjoy what you do
Appreciate what others do. Let them know.
Understand the power of compounding and start investing now
Laugh more
Do more to help others
Spend more time reading the instructions (or find someone who can) …especially when fibre glassing a boat…
Be bolder
Say yes more often.
What’s the advice you’d give to your 14 year old self?
The Idea Espresso Hit
It’s hard to cultivate a culture of innovation if your team don’t feel safe to experiment, learn and grow.
