From the desk of Caspar:
At age 84, what do you imagine you’ll be doing?
Last week, I went with my wife to see the latest Hockney exhibition at the Royal Academy. It was inspiring on several levels.
In March 2020 Hockney travelled to France and over 5 months created 114 paintings. Somedays creating 3 or 4 pieces. The sheer prolificness and quality of the art (see sample pic below) was just stunning.
Moreover, some were digital art on an iPad - animated and using the latest techniques to bring art to different mediums. His hunger and drive to learn and explore new ideas are something we could all aspire to in our different fields.
For all the strivers out there, he’s your hero and he’s my hero. How to be more Hockney…
Be curious, be open-minded, be hungry, work hard and never stop learning.
The Idea Espresso Hit
If you don’t inspire your team with a story of the future that ignites emotion, someone else will be happy to.
Back in the room
It was an absolute joy to be in the room with live events again this week. My first in person event since March 2020. Whilst I love virtual, the energy and vibe of being back with people is something else. What a fabulous audience to be back with at the Richmond Events Logistics and Supply Chain Forum.
It was great to also start the day listening to the fascinating Justin Urquhart Stewart and also for a very unexpected little excursion to test drive a Model 3 Tesla. Thanks to James for the pic from the event!
Long may live events be back with us!
